About This Spot

Stepping into Land + Sea is like finding a quiet cove where thoughtful flavours come to shore in a relaxed yet gently spirited atmosphere. Nestled in the heart of Tankerton, this restaurant carries the easy rhythm of a place where locals gather not out of habit, but out of genuine delight in the food and the warm welcome that greets you from the moment you arrive.

The space itself breathes a calm creativity; there's a casual elegance in the way the decor blends contemporary touches with maritime hints, inviting you to settle in slowly. Whether you’re watching the chefs craft each dish with palpable care in the open kitchen, or soaking in the mellow background music that threads through the room, every moment feels thoughtfully orchestrated without ever feeling staged.

Land + Sea is a celebration of fresh, vibrant ingredients where the menu plays like a conversation—dynamic and approachable, drawing from both land and ocean with an inspired balance. You might find the briny brightness of scallops or mussels complemented by the rich earthiness of Kentish lamb, or a surprising pairing that lingers for its warmth and subtle complexity rather than flashiness. The experience is never rushed; instead, it encourages sharing and savoring, a sense of discovering new favourite bites with each visit. The kitchen’s openness invites a little theatricality too, giving glimpses of dishes evolving from plate to palate, which adds a subtle layer of connection to the meal.

What truly stands out is the quietly attentive service that manages to be both professional and warmly personal. Guests often mention feeling genuinely welcomed here, including their four-legged companions, and it’s clear that the team cares as much about crafting a comfortable experience as they do about the food itself. From small gestures to well-timed suggestions, the hospitality layers naturally onto a dining experience that leaves you feeling seen and satisfied.

In a seaside town known for its charm, Land + Sea offers a kind of culinary anchorage—an inviting spot where every visit feels like a small, well-earned celebration of place, palate, and the simple pleasure of good company.

Wonderful food and great service. We loved all the dishes and could have eaten all of them again! Delicious! We had a bottle of the Balfour Albariño- fab.

A brilliant experience overall. Decor creative, relaxed atmosphere, great background music, and really informative about the menu. Most importantly, the food was fresh, with interesting blends of flavours, and really tasty. We had the pleasure of sitting next to the pass and seeing all the dishes being sent out. Will definitely be visiting again.

Reallllly enjoyable experience at Land and sea. Some very favourable dishes to which the menu can change daily (how cool is this…). We had the masala sea bream which was full of flavour, the prawns, scallops both cooked full of tasty sauces! Accompanied with some Parmesan frites and hispi cabbage all very yummy and would certainly go back. A lovely little spot, the two chefs cook it all in the open planned kitchen and you sense the aromas as you enter the restaurant. Lovely and thanks!

An absolutely sublime evening of exquisite food and warm, welcoming service. Land + Sea offers everything you would want from a restaurant. We shared a number of dishes, each were utterly delicious as the next. The whole fish with curried leek sauce was a real highlight, as well as the king prawns in satay sauce. Fried pickles are a must! The biggest surprise was the dessert of baked yogurt - unlike anything we had ever tried but just sensational. We cannot recommend this place enough and really look forward to visiting again as soon as we can!

From the moment we stepped into Land+Sea, the staff were absolutely wonderful! Immediately made us (and our dog) feel welcome, comfortable and happy. Wished me happy birthday and continued to be just the best, ending our meal with a cute cake (courtesy of my partner, but a mean feat for the staff, considering the crazy winds the candles were competing with!) Huge thank you to the chef - what an awesome talent. The food was INCREDIBLE! Would 100% recommend and will definitely be popping by next visit!

What a gem of a place. Immaculate prompt efficient service! Great coffee and generous well cooked food. We had kippers, poached eggs with bacon and smoked salmon all cooked to perfection.

Inviting interior and attentive service. Would have been good not to have to ask for serving spoons for every dish, every time. Hits - Oysters (fresh and the relish was delicious) - Sardine and octopus ragu with orecchiette (flavoursome and the pasta cooked just right) - Cod loin and clams Misses - Scallops (too oily and too many flavours competing) - Fried bread and butter pudding (was more deconstructed and the bread was very sweet and too crispy)

My second visit and still my favourite restaurant. A foodies heaven indeed! Each dish beautifully presented and delicious. Great wine list, especially love the local Kent offerings. The staff are very attentive and always friendly. Highly recommend.
